I thought traveling by boat from Norfolk, VA at mile marker 1 on the Intracoastal Waterway to Fort Pierce, FL at mile marker 966 might be a challenge, but I found making a web page for this blog and photo gallery of our cruise more difficult. Cruising down the ICW on my boat was easier! My wife and I were living in Norfolk, VA on the Chesapeake Bay. We had been there for twelve years and grew tired of the cold nasty winters. Last June we moved to Fort Pierce, FL. I needed to bring my boat from Norfolk to my new port of call. I had a choice. Pay someone to put my boat on a flatbed and trailer it to Florida, or bring it down the waterway myself. As a younger man, it was impossible to leave the businesses I owned to take the time to cruise to Florida on the ICW. Now that I am 59 and semi-retired, I finally had the opportunity to fulfill a lifelong dream. This website is devoted to the wonderful time my wife and I had cruising down the Intracoastal Waterway.
